Written goals v. unwritten goals

Written goals or unwritten goals? Whichever you choose, it’s important that you have a clear mind and that your goals are aligned with your highest values if you don’t want to feel unsatisfied despite all the hard work.

Goal setting: Written v. unwritten goalsTo have a clear mind mindful mediation helps and so does getting things out of your head, brain-vomiting onto paper. Write down your goals if your mind is so preoccupied and overloaded that you feel like losing sight of what you want for a meaningful life.

If you decide to write down your goals, read my previous post on how to set the right goal.

Unwritten goals could also be met if you train your mind to be focused and positive. I never wrote down my goal when I did finally get a scholarship to study overseas in 2006. I did not write down my goal when I bought a house a couple of weeks ago. Like me I am sure you have achieved at least one, if not a lot, of your unwritten goals.

In sum, written goals help when you feel overloaded. Unwritten goals also work wonders when you are focused and maintain positive attitude. Vitally important is that you can concentrate your mind on the task at hand, one at a time.
